Ingolfur Thor Tomasson

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 3:
- 2:18: scratching head when speaking about message
- 2:21 “wake people up” with contempt
- looks tense due to few negative micro expressions regularly. Might be being due to not entirely comfortable with speaking English.
- 2:52 pointing finger
- feels a bit too serious for the positive message
- does not feel emotionally connected to the words in English. Not enough ‘expected’ emotions with the words you hear and context. (for example on 2:10 we would expect a ‘wow’ in body language, but we don’t see it)

Ingolfur Thor Tomasson - video 2

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 5:
- Live coaching on the call?
- 0:02 pressed lips, then smile
- 0:06 playing with hands and pressing them
- 0:35 stressed lip movement? Relax your jaw.
- 0:45 good illustrations, also on 1:36 and 1:49
- 1:11 good illustration on how it changed your life
- in general: English more fluent. Better vowels.
- Excellent performance between 1:40-2:00. And between 2:30-3:10. Do it more!

Marla & Jami Keller

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 3:
- 0:13 no clapping
- 0:22 Marla looking at Jami giving sign to speak. Good!
- Jami 3:20: be more expressive. Show the emotions you say on your face, imagining it how you felt at those moments. (Marla good! During that time good that she listens and shows empathy)
- 3:58: Jami stays in position with hands and then swings. Nodding good!
- 2:30 interaction is good, but can be more relaxed interaction between each other. Jami feels a bit stiff. Similar to 1:09 (Jami, what are you thinking of at that moment?)
- Balance feels more dominant to Marla. Marla could support Jami to take more space.

Marla & Jami Keller – Video 2

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 5:
- exchange who speaks sooner in beginning
- Jami: good looking at Marla (look sometimes also into camera), good smile, good open hands, illustrations, etc; good reactions on what Marla says
- Marla: bright colour jacket; Jami no stripes
- Jami on 1:26, where does he look? Sigh: tired or inspired?
- Touching each other?
- 2:03: Jami fingers fidgeting. Keep same energy or keep them quiet. Compare to Marla’s fingers between 1:30-2:00
- 2:30: good interaction, do this more. Exercise in finishing each other sentences.

Carol Look

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 5:
- 0:50 “fun”, but small smile. Allow yourself to exaggerate on camera. Give 20% more.
- 1:07 “I love” but no happiness expression
- 1:40 looks like a judging look
- feels a bit too bland on camera, lack of expressiveness because camera flattens. Dare to experiment and do more.

Starla Fitch - video 1 - discussed in session 8

Megan Stangl

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 4:
- 0:09 sigh, no smile
- 0:40 no smile when about dream
- dare to go crazy with your expressions (better at 6:20-6:30, do this more)
- looks like a doll (perfect makeup, but we don’t feel the soul, lack of micro expressions?). Show more your feelings, because feels like you’re hiding something.
- Project voice and message very far from mountain?

Megan Stangl - video 2 - discussed in session 8:

Sayeda Habib

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 3:
- Good smile. Do it more.
- 3:00 onwards: looking at left up when thinking. Better look more often to interviewer.

Sayeda Habib - video 2

Sayeda Habib - video 3 discussed in session 8

Kelvin Lim

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 3:
- 1:26: thinking too long, just start talking
- not enough smile, look for good Chinese actor who plays in American movies and see the difference between them and you. Look how you can have more facial expressions in that style.
- 2:25 looks like sadness – 2:28 looks like anger but probably just concentration: not relevant for message
- 3:30 better future: good smile, but can be even bigger at this moment
- 3:50: again looking away when starting to answer, gives impression of not being confident of the answer + sound with lips
- 4:00 good hand movements, but 3 bottom fingers look too relaxed for confidence

Carol Koziol

Quick raw notes about Body Language discussed during session 4:

Good:
- illustrating hand movements on 0:50-0:53. Do this more.
- Smile on 0:55
- Natural and authentic energy and flow rhythm of movements.

To improve:

- 0:04 sigh. Do you like what you’re doing?
- 0:06 anger brows downward
- 0:12-0:17 eyebrows flashing upwards. Gives a nervous look.
- Various times disgust like on 0:38 (empty nesters)
- Thought: Maybe bright sun is the reason for all of these?
- smile more, show you have fun
- position is too much slouching, have a straight back, chest forward
- avoid negative micro expressions like anger and disgust, relax your face, practice in front of mirror, smile more to compensate
- anger brows downward (0:56) smile (0:58) anger (0:59)
- anger (1:05), then ‘Why do I coach?” then disgust 1:11(wrinkles around nose) + anger 1:10 (pressed lips, brows downward)
- 1:03: “have some fun”, but no smile seeable?

Janez Hudovernik - video trailer

Janez Hudovernik - video 1

Quick raw notes about Body Language of first video discussed during session 4:
- 1:36 and 2:31 disgust?
- Comparison 2:41 with 2:54. Try filming yourself talking to your teenagers
- need to adjust your speaking style/emotional tone to American people, because Slovenia expects more serious face. Maybe speak with native speakers and feel the energy?

Janez Hudovernik - video 2

Thomas Gelmi

Quick raw notes about Body Language of first video discussed during session 4:
- 0:03: slapping and shoulder shrug (also on 1:15, 1:28 with disgust and I don’t care expression with mouth after ‘I as a Coach’)
- 0:32 is this a smile or something else?
- 0:35 “power of coaching” can be more expressive because we don’t SEE that power
- 1:10 good supporting illustrations

Thomas Gelmi - video 2 - discussed in session 8

Karen Gonzalez

- 0:36, 0:39, 0:40, 0:44, 0:57, etc… eyes downwards
- 1:23 good smile, do more often
- 1:33 ‘very excited’ but shaking no
- nice smile at end, use it earlier too
- in general: project your message more
- in general: speaking a lot describing what you do, but what’s in it for the viewer?
- Live Coaching on the call
